Prof Liz Towns-Andrews OBE is a chemist by trade and has held numerous directorships of spin-out and start-up companies. She played a pivotal role in establishing the pioneering 3M Buckley Innovation Centre in Huddersfield as a platform to facilitate academic and industry collaborations and provide SMEs with the right tools to grow and succeed.
She holds the title 3M Professor of Innovation at the University of Huddersfield and is also Regional and Business Lead for the University’s new National Health Innovation Campus. The new campus will be dedicated to advancing healthcare innovation by accelerating the development and commercialisation of breakthrough solutions in health and wellbeing through interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial support. Its first building is due to be complete in Autumn 2024 and its second building in 2025.

Mina Gupta
Pathfinder and Modality Partnership
Mina is an experienced clinician and clinical leader with over 30 years’ experience as an NHS general practitioner. She is chair of largest and most dynamic primary care partnership in the UK establishing systems for working at-scale, and improving patient care by developing safety, governance, and compliance programs. To introduce a sustainable and forward-looking approach to delivering healthcare service, she is involved in digital transformation, bringing technology to primary care, for both administrative purposes and direct patient care.

She is a strong advocate of the NHS at home and worldwide, representing UK healthcare in Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India, and Brazil. She launched Pathfinder Community Interest Company (CIC) to promote international primary care provision and discourse in excellence in healthcare. She won an HSJ award for her work on behavioural motivational support for self-care.
She is a Fellow of the RCGP, an Industry Mentor at University College London Global Business School for Health, and a fellow of CREATE Academy, helping structure international leadership programmes.

Speed Debate Chair - Vipan Bhardwaj

Dr Vipan Bhardwaj has been a practicing NHS GP for almost 25 years. He became, and continues to be, a full-time GP Partner in 2005 and is currently the Executive Partner of the Wokingham Division of Modality Partnership. Vipan is also the National Lifestyles Clinical Director for Modality Partnership supporting over 480,000 patients to improve their health and wellbeing. Vipan was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2019 and awarded Fellowship of the International Academy of Nutrition Educators in 2023. Vipan loves a healthy debate and is looking forward to chairing what is sure to be a lively discussion!

Martin O'Neil - Google Health
Martin is a Healthcare Innovation and Product Consultant, based in Leeds, who is about to leave Google to setup his own venture. Martin originally trained as a Management Accountant in the NHS, before moving into health technology, leading EY’s Health Technology consulting in the UK, taking on the role of Product Director for the NHS App, before being invited to join Google as a Health Product and Deployment Lead in 2022. With 20 years’ health experience in the UK, Europe and North America, Martin has supported hundreds of startups, scaleups and global health technology companies, to create successful products and go-to-market strategies, using the latest technology. Most recently, Martin has been at the forefront of applying Generative AI and wearables to new models of healthcare, helping partners navigate the value of this new generation of AI and how to practically implement it, safely. Martin is passionate about unlocking a new era of lifelong health through technology, empowering and motivating individuals to live longer, healthier lives, and support the NHS to transition to a sustainable delivery model.
